Can Emla Cream be used for premature ejaculation?

It’s critical to note that an overdose of numbing medicines like Emla can cause fatal side effects if too much of the medicine is absorbed through the skin. Do not use large amounts of Emla, or cover treated skin areas with a bandage or plastic wrap without medical advice.
Never heard of Emla Cream?
EMLA cream contains lidocaine and prilocaine, both of which are local anaesthetics that should only be used under the supervision of a doctor. Topical local anaesthetic preparations (available as creams and sprays) are sometimes used by men “off label” to self-treat premature ejaculation, and are also used recreationally by men without such problems.
When applied as directed, they numb the skin of the penis, which may help prolong the time between initiation of intercourse and ejaculation. Unfortunately this numbing or freezing sensation also results in a lack of sensation (and pleasure) for both the man AND his partner.
As we’ve mentioned before – several treatments for premature ejaculation are available, including therapy, numbing creams, stamina exercises, and medically formulated premature ejaculation supplements like Prexil. What exactly is Emla Cream?
Emla is a medication which contains 2 amide-type local anesthetics, lidocaine and prilocaine. It is used on normal, unbroken skin or on the outer genital area to prevent pain before certain procedures such as inserting a needle, skin grafts, or skin laser surgery. It works by temporarily numbing the skin and surrounding area. Do not use this product in the ears.
If this product alone cannot completely numb the area being treated, it may be used to numb the area before a lidocaine injection is given to provide enough pain relief for certain procedures (e.g., removal of genital warts).
Does Emla Cream have side effects?
Well, like most prescription drugs, Emla cream can have some very serious – and sometimes fatal – side effects. You should not use Emla cream if you are allergic to any type of numbing medicine. Fatal overdoses have occurred when numbing medicines were used without the advice of a medical doctor (such as during a cosmetic procedure like laser hair removal). However, overdose has also occurred in women treated with a numbing medicine before having a mammography.
To make sure Emla is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have a blood cell disorder called methemoglobinemia; liver disease; a genetic enzyme deficiency called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency; or a family history of methemoglobinemia, or any genetic enzyme deficiency.
There are creams designed to help men with premature ejaculation, however Emla is not one of these creams. It is also basically a numbing spray, but it is far less dangerous than Emla cream.
